I’ve been a volunteer with the station for a long time now and present the Kickin’ Country Show on Monday’s 8-10 pm. My interest in country music started when I was very young and my parents were playing Glen Campbell, Don Williams, Tammy Wynette, Johnny Cash, etc at home, they had impeccable taste . On the show you’ll find fab new country and a sprinkling of those oldies, featured albums and artists, gig news, etc.
I love love love doing The Seventies Selection Saturdays between 2-4pm … it does what it says on the tin , wall to wall 70’s hits !
I’m a born and bred Irvinite, went to Ravenspark Academy and was Marymass Queen in 1978 and still live and work in the area today.

We Asked Dawn These Questions…
How did you get into broadcasting?
By accident ! I was helping out in a minor way with plans for the initial launch of Irvine Beat and got roped in……. as you do.
Random encounter with any celebrity?
I had my photo taken beside a police car with original Taggart actor Mark McManus in the late 80’s.
If you could interview anyone, who would it be and what question would you ask them?
Country artist Jason Aldean, and I’d ask if we could sing a duet together.
Music preferences?
All things COUNTRY ! Since hearing it played at home when growing up in the 70’s.
One surprising fact that your regular listeners may not know about you?
I can touch the tip of my nose with my tongue!
Sum up Irvine in 6 words or less?
Irvine born and bred.
