Community Wind Power In North Ayrshire

Community Windpower

On Friday (15/05/20) lunchtime we ran a special feature on-air to highlight the fantastic work carried out by the Dalry Parish Boundary Trust who work together with Community Wind Power. They provide much needed funds to local charities and organisations.

Dalry Community Wind Farm in North Ayrshire has been in operation since 2006. This provides annual community benefit funding which is distributed by the Dalry Parish Boundary Trust.

Covid 19 Crisis Fund

During the Corona Virus pandemic the fund has been providing additional help to local care homes by providing residents tablets to keep in touch with loved ones during lockdown.

A special Covid 19 crisis fund has been set up to provide support to health and charity organisations in North Ayrshire.

Local Funding

Each year, Community Wind Power provide the trust with £120,000 with funds then being distributed to organisations such as North Ayrshire Food Bank, Marie Curie, local youth and sports clubs.

Organisations are invited to apply for funding and support via Dalry Parish Boundary Trust. They are expecting a number of applications to come in following the virus pandemic from groups that they have supported in the past.
