Volunteers In North Ayrshire Needed
There are many ways to get involved with the Guide Dogs charity. Some of which don’t involve dogs at all.
On Thursday (1st Aug 2019) Cheryl Rist from the Hamilton branch of Guide Dogs Scotland joined us in the studio to tell us about the My Guide service.
About “My Guide”
My Guide is a service and project run by the Guide Dogs charity that involves volunteers making a huge difference to the blind and visually impaired.
This can simply involve accompanying the person with sight loss to go for walks, go out for a coffee or even attend the cinema – so a real range of activities.
North Ayrshire
In North Ayrshire there is a real shortage of volunteers and there are visually impaired people waiting to be partnered with volunteers.
Full training, expenses and ongoing support is provided.
