Mental Health Awareness Week.
Over the week of 18th to 24th May 2020, on Irvine Beat FM we have broadcast a range of features across different programmes as part of the nationwide 2020 Mental Health Awareness campaign.
Promoting health & wellbeing is something that we are always fully committed to doing as a community radio station in North Ayrshire.
Kindness
The theme of this year’s week-long Mental Health Awareness campaign is “Kindness”. Which is a very fitting topic during the 2020 Corona Virus pandemic.
The pandemic and the lockdown have raised additional worries, anxieties and mental health issues for many.
North Ayrshire Mental Health Support
Leeanne Killen is a Community Link Worker in North Ayrshire. Leeanne very kindly took some time to speak to us live on-air on Friday (22/5/20) lunchtime programme. Telling us what kind of support is available locally in relation to mental health.
In reference to this on-air feature, which is available to listen again (below). Our thanks to Leeanne for providing some very useful information on the radio and furthermore for providing a list of links and resources for various support, mental health & self-help groups & resources.
